On October 13 (local time), during her working visit to the United Kingdom, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang met with UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Indo-Pacific Seema Malhotra at the UK Foreign Office headquarters.

Welcoming Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and her delegation to London, the UK official praised the recent advancements in bilateral relations, highlighting the role of both Foreign Ministries.

Seema Maholtra affirmed that the UK views Vietnam as a significant partner in the Asia-Pacific region and expressed a desire to enhance comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, particularly in political-diplomatic, security, trade, finance, education, energy transition, and sustainable development sectors.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang expressed gratitude to the UK Foreign Office and the British Embassy in Hanoi for their close cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral forums, including ASEAN and the United Nations. She affirmed that Vietnam values and seeks to deepen its Strategic Partnership with the UK, aligning with the interests of both nations.

Both sides agreed to continue close coordination, maintaining mechanisms between the two Foreign Ministries such as the Deputy Minister-level strategic dialogue and inter-departmental discussions within the ministries. They aim to enhance comprehensive and effective cooperation, including organizing high-level visits and engagements, effectively implementing signed documents and agreements, deepening traditional cooperation areas, and expanding into other potential fields.

They also emphasized the importance of economic, trade, and investment cooperation, leveraging the UKVFTA and CPTPP agreements, and promoting cooperation in science and technology, innovation, as well as culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
