The event was not only an occasion to revisit the glorious traditions of Vietnamese youth but also to affirm the pivotal role of Vietnamese and Lao youth in nurturing and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos.

Attending the event from Vietnam were: Secretary of the Party Committee, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam in Laos; leaders of various agencies, representatives of the business community, and Vietnamese students in Laos.

From Laos, attendees included: Thongly Sisoulith, Party Central Committee Member, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, along with leaders of the Youth Union from various departments, ministries, and a large number of Lao youth members.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, delegates revisited the nearly century-long heroic journey of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

In his speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam emphasized that the history of the Union is written by the ideals, courage, and sacrifices of many generations of youth, exemplified by the legacy of Ly Tu Trong with the immortal truth: “The path of youth can only be the revolutionary path”.

The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam is entering the “Third Era – The Era of National Advancement”, where youth are the key force determining success. Especially as the relationship between the two countries is elevated to “great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic connection”, entering a new development phase, youth from both countries need to deeply understand their role as “creators of the future”, actively learning, mastering science and technology, and participating in cooperative activities between the two nations.

He also urged Youth Union organizations in Laos to continue strengthening, operating effectively, and aligning with political missions and people-to-people diplomacy.

The Ambassador emphasized that “strategic connection” is not only a major directive from senior leaders but should be concretized through practical cooperation programs and projects initiated by the youth of both countries. Vietnamese youth in Laos should proactively build knowledge networks, promote entrepreneurship, and innovate, especially in new technology and digital economy sectors, contributing to creating a shared development cooperation space between the two countries.

On this occasion, the Ambassador called on the youth of both countries to play their role as a reliable bridge between the peoples of the two nations, enhance cultural exchanges, and strengthen the social foundation of bilateral relations. They should actively combat misinformation, protect the ideological foundation of the Party, and maintain the purity of the Vietnam-Laos relationship. The Ambassador assured that the Embassy will always accompany and facilitate the youth of both countries to maximize their role and contribute positively to bilateral relations in the new phase.

Assigning tasks to the Youth Unions and members living and studying in Laos, the Ambassador outlined six key directions. These include enhancing political bravery; building a strong, substantive Youth Union organization; playing a pioneering role in concretizing the “strategic connection” relationship; closely coordinating with representative agencies; leading in external information to protect the ideological foundation; and finally, building the image of exemplary Vietnamese youth in intelligence, discipline, and responsibility. Particularly, they should implement the action motto “Resilient Bravery - Pioneering Creativity - Aspiration to Contribute - Mastering the Future” as stated by General Secretary To Lam in the article “Youth and the Future of the Nation”.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, Comrade Thongly Sisoulith expressed the honor of attending this significant event, affirming that the Laos-Vietnam relationship is an invaluable asset, built with the blood and unwavering loyalty of generations of leaders and people from both countries.

He affirmed that the youth of both countries have always been the vanguard force in revolutionary endeavors and in the construction and development of their countries.

He emotionally quoted the immortal words and poetry of President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong, affirming that the Laos-Vietnam friendship is “deeper than the waters of the Red and Mekong Rivers, more enduring than the Truong Son Mountains”.

He emphasized that the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union will continue to closely coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, strengthening youth cooperation across various fields, contributing to preserving and developing the special relationship between the two countries more sustainably and effectively.

Representing Vietnamese youth in Laos, Comrade Pham Thanh Son, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at the National University of Laos, reported on the outstanding results in Youth Union activities and youth movements in recent times.

The Union has continuously innovated its activities, promoting its role as a “common home” for members; implementing practical activities such as supporting learning, teaching the Lao language, cultural exchanges, sports, and participating in charitable activities, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people.

Representatives of Vietnamese youth in Laos expressed deep gratitude for the concern of the leadership levels, while committing to continue cultivating political bravery, enhancing knowledge, promoting the spirit of pioneering, creativity, and volunteerism, actively participating in youth cooperation activities, contributing to nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos.
