Held in both online and in-person formats for the first time, the event attracted 300 students from Singapore, Vietnam, and beyond.

Representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, major corporations, including Vietnam Airlines, and career advisors shared insights into employment trends and job-seeking strategies.

The online sessions from March 22-23 explored key fields like digital technology, e-commerce, and personal branding.

Nguyen Thi Xuan Mai, VNYA President, highlighted the growing competition in job markets across Vietnam and Singapore, stressing that the fair aimed to provide students with practical strategies to secure top opportunities.

At the SMU event on March 28, students engaged directly with professionals, gaining first-hand knowledge about overcoming career challenges and building confidence.

Do Huy Hieu, a member of the organising team, said that the event aims to connect students with industry experts, helping them learn from real experience.

Consultation booths at the fair offered one-on-one sessions on CV writing, LinkedIn optimisation, and interview techniques. Experts emphasised long-term career development, focusing on networking, mentorship, and personal branding.

With many Vietnamese students in Singapore studying engineering, IT, and economics, job competition is fierce. Fresh graduates often take six to eight months to secure employment.

To bridge the gap, the fair included company visits, such as a tour of Google Singapore, providing insights into workplace culture and employer expectations.
