The Hanoi People’s Committee has just issued a decision to recognize the tourist destination of the bamboo and rattan weaving village in Phu Tuc commune, Phu Xuyen district.

According to the decision, the People’s Committee of Phu Tuc commune is responsible for organizing the management, exploitation and development of the tourist destination in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Tourism and related legal documents.

Phu Tuc commune has been famous for its traditional craft of weaving sedge. Now, after nearly 400 years of development, the commune has over 1,000 products mainly made from sedge and other materials.

All eight villages of Phu Tuc commune are recognized as craft villages. The craft of weaving sedge has truly brought Phu Tuc commune a new look, improving the living standards of the people.

Currently, the commune is striving to promote the craft of weaving sedge, raising the average income of local people in 2024 to more than 73.5 million a person a year.
