Attending the decision-giving ceremony were Director General of the Department of Organization and Personnel Tran Ngoc An, and leaders of relevant units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son presented the decision to appoint Mr. Ngo Phuong Nghi, Acting Director General of the Service Department for Diplomatic Corps, to hold the position of Director General of the Department.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son presented the decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, former Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria, who had finished his term and returned to Vietnam, to hold the position of Director General of the Department of General Research, under State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Son congratulated the officials who have been appointed to their new positions. Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Son affirmed that the appointment reflected the Party Committee's trust in the capacity and working experience of Mr. Ngo Phuong Nghi and Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien.
With regards to Mr. Ngo Phuong Nghi, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Son emphasized that the Service Department for Diplomatic Corps is managing a large amount of public assets and providing direct services to representative missions and international organizations in Vietnam. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister hopes that the new Director will continue to develop his experience, promote data digitization, to build modern facilities under management, and take good care of the lives of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the unit.
With regards to to Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister said the Ministry continues to improve personnel work and capacity for units, including the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs. Appreciating the capacity and experience in foreign affairs of Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister hopes that the new Director General of the Department will continue to have many initiatives for the unit, making positive contributions to the work for Overseas Vietnamese affairs.
