APEC 2025: President Luong Cuong attends banquet hosted by Korean leader
WVR - On the evening of October 29, President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Lee Jae Myung hosted a welcoming dinner for APEC leaders in the ancient capital of Gyeongju. The banquet marked the first in the series of activities for leaders within the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week.

In his opening remarks, the Korean President expressed his pleasure in welcoming APEC leaders to Gyeongju, emphasizing that APEC 2025 is a significant milestone in efforts to promote regional cooperation for a connected, innovative, and prosperous Asia-Pacific.
President Lee Jae Myung highlighted Republic of Korea's desire to work with member economies to enhance dialogue, build trust, and act for peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region. The leaders expressed gratitude to President Lee Jae Myung and the people of Republic of Korea for their warm hospitality and congratulated the important achievements of APEC 2025.
In a friendly and open atmosphere, APEC leaders discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean regions, affirming APEC's central role in promoting trade, investment, innovation, and inclusive and sustainable growth. They also shared their determination to build a peaceful, stable, and sustainably developing region.

Speaking at the event, President Luong Cuong emphasized three key goals that members should coordinate to promote: peace, prosperity, and sustainable development for all economies. He affirmed that, with a deep understanding of the value of peace and national independence, Vietnam is ready to participate in mediation efforts, conflict resolution, peacekeeping, and reconstruction in the international community.
Highlighting that prosperity can only be achieved through sincere, equal, and mutually beneficial cooperation, respecting each other and sharing Vietnam's perspective on sustainable development, President Luong Cuong emphasized a long-term vision and a comprehensive, balanced approach. He affirmed Vietnam's readiness to collaborate with partners on programs and projects in energy, digital economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, and high-quality human resource training.
According to the President, as the host of APEC 2027, Vietnam will closely coordinate with members to build on APEC's achievements, ensuring that the Asia-Pacific remains a land of opportunity and success. Vietnam looks forward to welcoming all APEC leaders to the APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2027 on the beautiful island of Phu Quoc.
