On this occasion, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh paid courtesy calls to President Wesley W. Simina, Vice President Aren B. Palik, Speaker of the Congress Edward B. Moses, Acting Foreign Minister Ricky F. Cantero, and held discussions with leaders of the Ministry of Resources and Development and the Executive Director of the National Oceanic Resource Management Authority.

During the ceremony of presenting credentials and courtesy call to President Wesley W. Simina, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Luong Cuong and senior leaders of Vietnam to the President, Government, and people of Micronesia. He expressed his honor as the first Vietnamese Ambassador to present credentials in Micronesia.

The Ambassador emphasized that Vietnam values its friendly and cooperative relations with Micronesia. He affirmed that in his role as Vietnam's Ambassador to China, concurrently accredited to Micronesia, he will strive to promote more substantive and effective bilateral relations. He expressed a desire for both sides to enhance high-level exchanges and cooperation in trade, agriculture, fisheries, people-to-people exchanges, and tourism.

President Wesley W. Simina highly appreciated and affirmed that Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh being the first Vietnamese Ambassador to present credentials in Micronesia marks an important milestone, opening a phase of more effective cooperation between the two countries. He noted that the Vietnam-Micronesia relationship still has much room and potential for development, suggesting both sides focus on practical cooperation in climate change response, agriculture and aquaculture, human resource training, and tourism.

During the courtesy call to Speaker of the Congress Edward B. Moses, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh affirmed that Vietnam is ready to share experiences and support Micronesia in sustainable development. He expressed a desire to enhance exchanges and delegation visits between the two countries' parliaments.

Speaker Edward B. Moses expressed his admiration for Vietnam's development achievements and suggested that the two countries' parliaments enhance exchanges and share legislative experiences. He emphasized promoting cooperation in transportation infrastructure, water management, resource management, climate change response, and enhancing the role of Vietnam and Micronesia's concurrent representative agencies in promoting bilateral relations.

In meetings with relevant agencies, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh discussed the potential and needs for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as high-level exchanges, establishing a legal framework to facilitate trade and investment activities, cooperation in building transportation infrastructure, telecommunications, energy, sustainable fisheries management, enhancing the fisheries value chain, and strengthening coordination at international and regional multilateral forums where both countries are members.
