Coast guard troops to support locals in flood-hit areas of Thua Thien Hue

WVR - Recently, in response to the heavy rain and flood in Thua Thien Hue province, a delegation from the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 paid a visit and gave presents to families seriously affected.

On November 18, the working delegation headed by Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2, visited and gave presents to families affected by rain and flood in Phong Chuong commune, Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province.

In the delegation, there were representatives of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, local leaders and authorities.

Colonel Tran Hong Que shared encouraged local people’s to overcome difficulties and hardships and quickly stabilize their livings.

On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command gave 50 gifts (each 1 million VND, including 700,000 VND in cash and some necessities such as: rice, instant noodles) to disadvantaged families and lonely people seriously affected by rain and floods in the commune.

According to Que, although the gifts are neither big or expensive, they are full of heart to heart affection, and responsibility of soldiers of the Coast Guard in general, those of Coast Guard Region 2 in particular, thereby helpong promptly encourage and support people to overcome the difficulties caused by natural disasters.

Van Thi Em (80 years old, residing in Phu Loc village, Phong Chuong commune) expressed her emotion when receiving gifts from Uncle Ho's soldiers. She said: “The rain and flood in recent days have seriously affected our lives. Today, we are very happy because the soldiers visited our home and gave gifts. Thank you the Coast Guard for always paying attention to us in difficult time”.
