In an interview with local media, Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc emphasized that this is a significant political event for the Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam. It marks a crucial milestone in the development of the Party and the nation.
Moreover, it is an opportunity to review and summarize 40 years since the initiation of the renovation process; to assess the implementation of the 13th Congress's Resolution and to set objectives, directions, and tasks for the next five to ten years, with a vision towards 2045.
According to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Angola, in the context of rapidly evolving, complex, and unpredictable global and regional situations, the country faces many opportunities intertwined with significant challenges and new issues that need addressing.
Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc affirmed: “The Congress is expected to make decisive, strong policies to propel the country forward in the new era. The documents of this Congress inherit the foreign policy of the renovation period while incorporating many new, important contents.”
Additionally, the continuity lies in the independent, self-reliant, peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developmental foreign policy; diversifying and multilateralizing foreign relations; ensuring the highest national interests based on the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law; equal and mutually beneficial cooperation; being a friend, a reliable partner, and an active, responsible member of the international community; actively and responsibly participating in resolving common regional and international issues.

The most notable addition is the directive viewpoint that “strengthening national defense, security, and promoting foreign relations and international integration are essential, regular tasks.”
The Ambassador also affirmed that 2026 holds significant importance for both the Communist Party of Vietnam and Angola's MPLA Party, as the Communist Party of Vietnam will hold its 14th Congress and the MPLA Party its 9th Congress in the same year.
“So far, the future policies of the Party and the State of Vietnam are clear, and I believe the policies of the MPLA Party's 9th Congress are also aligned. Historically, the two Parties have maintained a cooperative, friendly relationship, always supporting each other, and leading the State and people of both countries to develop friendly and cooperative relations,” Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc highlighted.
The world and the region are currently experiencing significant, serious changes, making it essential for the two Parties and two States to enhance cooperation and coordination to respond effectively.
“I believe and am confident that the relationship between the two Parties will continue to be strengthened and developed. Under the leadership of the two Parties, the cooperative relations between the two countries will continue to be maintained and will grow stronger, more effective, and more substantial than before,” Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc added.
