Currently, Germany is Vietnam's largest trading partner in the EU, accounting for nearly 20% of Vietnam's exports to the EU. Total two-way trade turnover has grown impressively, from 4.11 billion USD in 2010 to nearly 12 billion USD in 2023.

Following the two countries’ National Anthems, the two state leaders reviewed the Guard of Honour of the Vietnamese People's Army. Subsequently, they introduced participating members of the sides’ high-level delegations.

After the reception, the two Presidents, heading their respective high-level delegations, commended their talks, evaluating the results of cooperation between the two countries in recent times and proposing directions for ties in the future.
