WVR - On the morning of June 8, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung hosted an official reception for Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, who is on an official visit to Vietnam and attending the third ASEAN Future Forum.

At the invitation of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet is on an official visit to Vietnam and attending the third ASEAN Future Forum from June 8-9. This marks Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet's second official visit to Vietnam as the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung warmly welcomed Prime Minister Hun Manet leading the high-level delegation of the Kingdom of Cambodia on an official visit to Vietnam. Representatives of Hanoi's youth presented Prime Minister Hun Manet with a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Amidst welcoming music, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Prime Minister Hun Manet stepped onto the honour podium at the main hall of the Government Headquarters. The national anthems of both countries were played.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Prime Minister Hun Manet proceeded to salute the military flag and review the Honour Guard of the Vietnam People's Army. Subsequently, the two leaders introduced the high-level delegations of both countries attending the ceremony.

Following the reception, the two Prime Ministers led the high-level delegations of both countries in discussions to evaluate the results of cooperation between the two countries in recent times, discuss future cooperation directions, and witness the signing of cooperation documents between Vietnam and Cambodia.

In recent times, the relationship between the two countries has been continuously strengthened and developed in all fields. Both sides have actively implemented strategic orientations agreed upon by the senior leaders of the two Parties and countries during the state visit of General Secretary To Lam on February 6 and the high-level meeting between the two Parties (Vietnam - Cambodia), as well as the meeting of the three leaders of the three Parties (Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos) in Phnom Penh.

Both sides continue to maintain numerous high-level and various-level exchanges. Party channel cooperation plays a guiding role in the bilateral relationship. Important bilateral cooperation mechanisms are regularly organized and continue to be effective. Defense and security cooperation remains a pillar, becoming increasingly close and substantive.

Trade, investment, and tourism cooperation are highlights, with stable growth. Bilateral trade turnover reached USD 11.33 billion in 2025, an increase of over 11.7% compared to 2024; in the first four months of 2026, it reached nearly USD 5 billion, up 9.6% compared to the same period in 2025.

Vietnam is currently Cambodia's third-largest trading partner and the largest trading partner within ASEAN. Both sides are actively coordinating to achieve the goal of bilateral trade turnover reaching USD 20 billion soon.

To date, Vietnam has 229 investment projects in Cambodia with a total registered capital of approximately USD 2.94 billion, ranking second among 85 overseas investment destinations of Vietnam and among the top five countries with the largest direct investments in Cambodia.

In 2025, Vietnam had 1.22 million tourist arrivals to Cambodia (leading the list of countries with tourists visiting Cambodia) and welcomed nearly 700,000 Cambodian tourists.

Other areas of cooperation such as education and training, transportation, culture, health, telecommunications, etc., are also being actively promoted. Exchanges and cooperation between mass organizations and people's associations are maintained and have seen innovations in form. The two countries also closely coordinate with each other at international, regional, and sub-regional forums.

On the foundation of a well-developed friendly relationship, the official visit to Vietnam by the Cambodian Prime Minister holds significant importance, creating new momentum for the bilateral relationship to continue deepening, becoming more substantive and effective in all fields, especially as the two countries prepare to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia (June 24, 1967 - June 24, 2027).

Additionally, Prime Minister Hun Manet's participation in the ASEAN Future Forum will significantly contribute to the success of the Forum, affirming Cambodia's active support for this important international event hosted by Vietnam, and supporting Vietnam's efforts in promoting the building of the ASEAN community and creating common peace and prosperity for the region.
