Vietnam officially took over the ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 at the 35th ASEAN Summit in Bangkok, Thailand on November 4. Participants in the event included Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vice Chairman of Government Office Nguyen Xuan Thanh and Vingroup Vice President and General Director Nguyen Viet Quang.
Speaking at the event, Minister Dung said that the Government’s approval of VinFast cars to serve such crucial international event as ASEAN 2020 is the honor of Vingroup. It also manifests Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s affirmation that the Vietnamese Government always listens, shares, coordinates and advocates capable, professional and prestigious investors.
Dung expected that the close coordination between the Materials-Logistics Subcommittee and VinFast will make crucial contributions to the success of Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2020.
According to the agreement, VinFast will hand over 393 cars from now till September 2020 for Materials-Logistics Subcommittee, under the National ASEAN 2020 Committee. All these cars have met demands on security, safety and logistic standards of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
VinFast also holds responsible for providing relevant services to make sure that cars will operate with the best conditions within the standard of VinFast during the event.
During the National ASEAN 2020 Committee, Vietnam will organize 200 meetings, conferences at all levels. VinFast cars will join in 30 main meetings including the ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting, ministerial-level meetings and two summits.
