Vietnam's booth 'shines' at Bazaar 2025 in Islamabad

WVR - On November 23, the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Islamabad participated in the Charity Bazaar 2025 organized by the Pakistan Foreign Office in collaboration with the Pakistan Foreign Office Women's Association (PFOWA).

Amidst the vibrant booths from various countries, Vietnam's display was one of the most favored stops.

This is an annual activity of the diplomatic corps in Islamabad aimed at raising funds for projects supporting those in difficult circumstances, such as orphans, the elderly without support, and those with serious illnesses. The event attracted a large participation of foreign representatives in Pakistan.

This year's bazaar featured over 50 booths from 24 embassies and stalls from various localities and cities across Pakistan, drawing more than 15,000 visitors – a record number marking the event's outstanding success.

eputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar, the event's Chief guest, described the bazaar as “a captivating blend of diverse cultures”, clearly reflecting international cooperation.

Among the colorful booths from countries worldwide, Vietnam's display quickly became one of the most popular stops. The spouses and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy meticulously prepared traditional dishes such as crispy spring rolls, fragrant banh mi (bread), chicken salad, green rice cakes, and Halal-standard banh khao (rice cake).

Each dish not only delighted the taste buds of guests at the event but also told a delicate story of Vietnamese cuisine. Along with the exquisite handicrafts on display, Vietnam's booth painted a vibrant picture of Vietnamese cultural identity.

Notably, the presence and interest of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with ambassadors from China, Japan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Germany, and many others, were evident as they visited Vietnam's booth.

The diplomats praised the sophistication and harmony of Vietnamese cuisine, as well as the intricate handicrafts.

According to the organizers, this year's bazaar raised nearly 4 million Rupees to support those in difficult circumstances, orphans, the elderly without support, and victims affected by natural disasters. Besides its noble charitable goal, the event was also a valuable opportunity for each embassy to introduce their country's people and culture to the international community.
