The Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico has provided support for 11 Vietnamese nationals recently rescued by Mexican police in a kidnapping incident that took place in Chihuahua state, near the US border.

The rescued Vietnamese citizens are currently housed at an immigration facility in Villahermosa city, Tabasco state, nearly 800 km from Mexico City. They are in stable health, the embassy said after contacting local authorities on February 20.

Upon receiving the information, Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs promptly instructed the embassy to provide appropriate assistance.

The ermbassy remains in close coordination with local authorities to monitor developments and stand ready to take citizen protection measures.
