Vietnam team attended SEA Games 32 opening ceremony with 1,003 members

Vietnamese athletes joined others from regional nations to parade their flags on the opening ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games at Phnom Penh’s 60,000-seater Morodok Techo National Stadium on May 5.

Vietnam team have 1,003 members, including 702 athletes competing in 31 sports. They target to win between 90-120 gold medals for a place in the top three finish.

"Welcome Cambodia," "This is our time" and "Cambodia is our home” composed by the Union of Youth Federation of Cambodia (UYFC) was staged on the opening night. In addition to the songs, the celebration saw the performances of band MCT125 of the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia, an Asia martial arts duel between Cambodian Kun Bokator fighters and Chinese Shaolin.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen announced the opening of the 32nd SEA Games and lighted the torch of the Games. Besides, fireworks display around Morodok Techo Stadium was performed.
