Vietnam Rescue Team recovers 15 more earthquake victims in Venezuela

Thus far, the Vietnamese rescue team has recovered a total of 45 earthquake victims from the rubble in Venezuela.
The Vietnamese contingent involved in the earthquake recovery efforts in Venezuela comprises 124 members, including military and police forces. Despite the urgent deployment, long travel distances, challenging living and working conditions, and ongoing aftershocks posing risks to the task force, the rescue team has demonstrated resilience, intelligence, responsibility, determination, and experience from previous international earthquake relief missions. They have raced against time, seizing every hour and minute, overcoming all difficulties and hardships to fulfill their mission.

The team has closely coordinated with Venezuelan authorities, promptly implementing plans, mobilizing forces and means for search and rescue, extracting many victims from collapsed structures, and handing them over to local authorities. They have also actively provided medical support on-site, ensuring absolute safety. These efforts deeply reflect the noble international spirit and the fine traditions of the Vietnamese nation.

On the same day, Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Rescue and Relief Department (General Staff), and Head of the delegation, read a commendation letter from General Phan Van Giang, Politburo Member, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defence, to the officers and professional soldiers participating in the earthquake recovery efforts in Venezuela.
In the letter, General Phan Van Giang acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the responsibility and achievements of the officers and professional soldiers involved in the earthquake recovery efforts in Venezuela.

General Phan Van Giang urged the rescue team to further uphold the tradition of "Determined to Fight, Determined to Win" of the heroic People's Army of Vietnam, to unite and collaborate effectively, to strive harder, to be more ingenious and decisive, to rescue more victims, meeting the expectations of the Venezuelan Government and people, while ensuring absolute safety. He affirmed that the entire nation and all military personnel are proud and stand in solidarity with the forces.
