Vietnam recorded 204 COVID-19 cases, with the latest patient a 10-year-old boy

The boy flew from Prague (the Czech Republic) to Istanbul (Turkey) on Flight 1770 on March 14, and from Istanbul to Vietnam on Flight TK162 on March 15 - the same flight as the 83rd patient.

Upon entry, he showed no symptoms and was transferred to a concentrated quarantine centre at the Military School of Military Zone 7 in HCM City’s District 12. His test on March 18 turned up negative for SARS-CoV-2 that causes the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the test result on March 27 was positive. Currently, the boy is being treated at the hospital for COVID-19 in Can Gio district, HCM City.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health has confirmed 9 more COVID-19 infection cases on March 30, including 7 cases linked to Bach Mai Hospital.

Accordingly, patient numbered 195, 196, 198, 199, 200, 201, and 202 are all employees of Truong Sinh Company which provides food and logistics services to Ha Noi’ Bach Mai Hospital.

Patient 196 is a 41-year old man from Thanh Oai District, Ha Noi.

On March 12, he went to the Center for Tropical Diseases of the Bach Mai Hospital for medical check.

All of the above patients are being treated at the Central for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh’s Ha Noi with their health reportedly in stable conditions.

Patient 203 is a 35-year Vietnamese old woman who returned home from Greece on March 17 after transiting in Turrkey.

She did not have the disease symptoms upon her arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. He was taken to a centralized quarantine facility in Nha Be District.

Of the total infection cases confirmed in Vietnam so far, 55 have recovered and exited hospitals while the rest are being treated at 22 medical facilities across Vietnam.
