Vietnam Embassy in Qatar celebrates 80th anniversary of National Day
WVR - The 80th National Day celebration of Vietnam in Qatar left a strong impression, contributing to promoting the image of a dynamic, friendly Vietnam with great potential for cooperation.

On the evening of September 14, at the Pullman Hotel, Doha, the Vietnam Embassy in Qatar solemnly organized the celebration of the 80th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The event was attended by over 220 guests, including representatives from various Qatari ministries such as Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina Bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Fakhroo; more than 120 heads of diplomatic missions and officials from various countries, representatives of 15 enterprises, along with dozens of journalists and a large Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Qatar.
In his speech at the event, Vietnam's Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Huy Hiep expressed his honour and joy in welcoming distinguished guests to join in this special occasion. The Ambassador emphasized that September 2, 1945, marks a significant historical milestone when President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed the Declaration of Independence, founding the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and ushering in a new era for the Vietnamese nation – an era of independence, freedom, and development.
The Ambassador affirmed that over the past 80 years, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with a spirit of solidarity, resilience, and creativity, the Vietnamese people have overcome numerous challenges, from wars and natural disasters to economic crises, gradually building a prosperous nation, a stable society, and an increasingly elevated international standing.
Today, Vietnam has become one of the most dynamic economies in the region, while also being a responsible member of the international community, actively participating in efforts to maintain global peace, security, and development cooperation.

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep highlighted that 2025 holds special significance for Vietnam as it marks several important events: the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, the 80th anniversary of the nation's founding, the 50th anniversary of national reunification, and the 30th anniversary of Vietnam's accession to ASEAN. In this context, Vietnam continues to implement extensive administrative reforms, enhance national governance efficiency, promote digital transformation, develop a green economy, and aims to become a developed, high-income nation by 2045.
In his speech, the Ambassador expressed delight at the tremendous achievements Qatar has attained under the leadership of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, particularly in maintaining political-social stability, socio-economic development, and making positive contributions to regional and international peace and security.
The Ambassador noted that the friendly relations between Vietnam and Qatar have developed positively, especially following the official visit to Qatar by Vietnam's Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (October 2024).
Bilateral trade turnover in 2024 reached 860 million USD, while exchanges between ministries, sectors, and enterprises of the two countries have become increasingly vibrant.
Cultural exchanges and tourism promotion activities are regularly organized, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and connection between the peoples of the two countries. The Ambassador expressed confidence that in the coming time, Vietnam-Qatar relations will continue to develop comprehensively, aiming towards a substantive and mutually beneficial partnership.

The ceremony took place in a solemn and friendly atmosphere, with an exhibition space showcasing unique products and images of Vietnam and its people.
Delegates and guests had the opportunity to gain deeper insights into the history, culture, development potential, as well as the outstanding socio-economic achievements of Vietnam.
Many guests expressed deep impressions of Vietnam's remarkable progress in recent times and highly appreciated the warm hospitality extended by the Vietnamese people to international friends.
The event left a strong impression, contributing to promoting the image of a dynamic, friendly Vietnam with great potential for cooperation, while further strengthening the multifaceted friendship and cooperation between Vietnam, Qatar, and the international community.
