Vietnam-Canada Business Association debuts in Vancouver
The Vietnam-Canada Business (VCB) Association made its debut during a congress held in Vancouver, Canada on October 1.The establishment of the VCB Association took place in the context that the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Canada has made impressive strides, with a 5-year milestone this year.

The establishment of the VCB Association took place in the context that the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Canada has made impressive strides, with a 5-year milestone this year.
The two countries are also looking forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2023.
Despite suffering the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, the two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Canada still reached more than CAD10 billion, of which the value of trade between Vietnam and the province of British Columbia hit CAD 2.5 billion.
In his speech at the event, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Trong Thua expressed his belief that VCB Association will make positive contributions to boosting economic and trade relations between the two nations.
He said he will discuss with Vietnamese competent agencies in a bid to help VCB Association expand its membership network in Vietnam and launch a broad range of practical activities in the time ahead.
The establishment of VCB Association comes from the desire to meet, connect and support each other in trade and investment of the two countries' businesses.
In addition to the original purpose of connecting Vietnamese businesses operating in Canada, VCB Association also aims to recruit Vietnamese entrepreneurs and those from Canada who intend to do business and invest in Vietnam and other countries in the world in order to create a large, diverse organization with deep understanding of economy, culture, and law for mutual development.
In his address, George Chow, Minister of State for Trade of the British Columbia, highly appreciated the economic and trade relations between Vietnam and Canada as well as with British Columbia.
George Chow expressed his hope that VCB Association will support the post-pandemic economic recovery process in the two countries.
Sharing this view, Chak Au, the Richmond city administration representative highlighted the significance of the establishment of the VCB Association, and the contribution of the Vietnamese-Canadian community in the city, while believing that the Association will serve as a bridge for both sides' businesses to meet and do business successfully.
For his part, Consul General Nguyen Quang Trung expressed the honor of the Vietnam Representative Office in the region in contributing to the process of connecting and supporting the two countries' business communities in realizing their aspirations.
He also pledged that the Consulate General would continue to support the activities launched by the VCB Association in accordance with the principles and purposes of the Association.
