Top legislator chairs rehearsal for APPF-26
National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who is the President of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) for the 2017-2018 tenure, chaired a dress rehearsal for the 26th Annual Meeting of the APPF (APPF-26) on January 16.

The NA leader asked sub-committees to coordinate closely together in reviewing all preparation work and drawing lessons in dealing with any contingencies.

Along with contents of the meeting, the organising board should carefully prepare reception, logistics and communication activities, thus ensuring the success of the event, she said.
The APPF-26 will take place in Ha Noi from January 18-21. This is the second time the Vietnamese NA has hosted the meeting after the APPF-13 in Ha Long city, the northern province of Quang Ninh in January 2005.
The hosting of the event shows the role and responsibility of the Vietnamese parliament in the APPF, while promoting the image of a legislature of reform, dynamism, activeness and responsibility.
