'Taste of Sunland’ invites visitors to Quang Tri

Taking place from July 12-14 at the Cua Viet tourist service area, the “Taste of Sunland” festival aimed to honor the diversity and uniqueness of Vietnamese cuisine in general and Quang Tri cuisine in particular. This event is one of the highlights of the First Festival for Peace organized by the People’s Committee of Quang Tri province.

Over the past few days, Quang Tri province introduced festival attendees to local culinary culture such as Sai market pork rolls, Mai Xa mussel noodles, Cua chicken, Gio An pork tray, Hai Lang flour porridge, Cua Viet seafood, dishes from the Van Kieu-Pako ethnic groups, vegetarian dishes, and OCOP products...
Notably, the event included culinary demonstrations by top Vietnamese culinary artisans and experts, featuring distinctive dishes such as Mai Xa mussel noodles, Que Son cassava pho, Nghe An eel soup, Sai market grilled pork, Cua chicken with red gourd, and wine-steamed grouper...
Alongside the festival, there was an international kite flying activity in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Conservation Center "Kite," involving six teams of domestic and international kite artisans. These artisans performed kite flying displays at night on the beach, and visitors also had the opportunity to make kites and participate in face painting...

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, stated that the "Taste of Sunland" cultural and culinary festival is positioned as a culturally impactful event, serving to promote the values, potential, and strengths of Quang Tri's land and people to both domestic and international tourists.
Not only can visitors enjoy the distinctive dishes of this sunny and windy region, but they also immerse themselves in meaningful peace-related events and experience a colorful, friendly, and hospitable Quang Tri, making it a must-visit destination in the Vietnam tourism journey.
From June 29 to July 26, Quang Tri province is hosting the Festival for Peace to honor the value of peace, pay tribute to martyrs, commemorate war victims, share the losses and sufferings caused by the war, and also promote propaganda to enhance the stature and image of the land and people of Quang Tri. |
