| Mr. Benjamin Ping – General Manager of Takeda Viet Nam, likens his leadership to bamboo: strong roots, adaptable strategies. |
According to Mr. Benjamin Ping, General Manager of Takeda Viet Nam, the bamboo tree—a symbol of resilience, strength, and adaptability—was a guiding metaphor for his leadership. The roots represent Takeda’s values, the trunk reflects the pivotal role of Takeda’s people, and the flexible branches signify the company’s agile strategies. Through this analogy, Mr. Benjamin conveys his leadership vision: staying grounded in purpose and values while remaining adaptable to the evolving healthcare needs of the population.
Takeda’s global philosophy is anchored in three strategic pillars: Patient – People – Planet, and this is brought to life in Vietnam through concrete actions. These include putting patients first, expanding access to innovative treatments across key therapeutic areas such as rare diseases, oncology, neuroscience, plasma-derived therapies, and vaccines, and strengthening the local healthcare system to meet growing and complex care demands. Takeda also applies a tiered pricing strategy, aligned with each country’s economic and healthcare development level, to ensure equitable and sustainable access to appropriate medical solutions.
Regarding the people pillar, Mr. Benjamin emphasises that people at Takeda are the greatest asset. We are guided by our values of Takeda-ism, which incorporate Integrity, Fairness, Honesty and Perseverance, with Integrity at the core. In that order, they are brought to life through actions based on Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business. The values encourage lifelong learning and foster a diverse and inclusive workplace. In Vietnam, the Takeda team is committed to responsible action, consistently placing patients at the forefront of every decision.

For the planet pillar, Takeda has brought into life the proactive prevention solution to dengue fever, an acute vector-borne disease that is exacerbated due to climate change. With the development and introduction of a dengue vaccine, Takeda contributes medical solutions and collaborates with health authorities and professional organisations to raise public awareness, communicate scientific information, and advocate for sustainable disease prevention strategies - integrating immunisation, vector control, and epidemiological surveillance. These efforts reflect Takeda’s broader goal of contributing to national strategies that enhance climate resilience and environmental sustainability.
With a clear strategic direction and a deep spirit of collaboration, Takeda Viet Nam is steadily advancing its vision to deliver transformative healthcare solutions and improve the quality of life for the Vietnamese people. At the same time, the company continues to support the development of a stronger health system—working in partnership with Vietnam’s healthcare sector to reinforce its standing in the region and on the global stage.
