In his speech at the ceremony, reflecting on the proud and glorious history steeped in camaraderie between the two neighboring brotherly nations, Ambassador Hé Wěi expressed his wish for the students, “from a young age, to feel the friendship between the peoples of the two countries and recognize that the hearts of the two peoples are closely connected”.

The Ambassador also expressed his joy at seeing that, after decades of effort, the practical cooperation between the two countries is becoming increasingly robust, with many Chinese enterprises investing and doing business in the S-shaped country, bringing tangible benefits to local people.

Currently, trade turnover between Vietnam and China is very high, reaching 260 billion USD in 2024.

Notably, Ambassador He Wei hopes that when the high-speed railway connecting Vietnam and China is completed in the future, the scale of trade between the two countries will continue to soar.

“In the future, traveling, studying, working, or living in China will be even more convenient for you,” he emphasized.

Quoting two lines from poet Li Bai: “A great bird rises with the wind, soaring nine thousand miles high” (with great ambition and strong will, one will soar like an eagle), the Ambassador encouraged the students: “I hope you will take the honour of receiving this Ambassador Scholarship as an opportunity to study well, grow healthily, spread your wings high, and strive to become builders of Vietnam's socialist cause and successors of the Vietnam-China friendship.”

Also within the event's framework, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, emphasized that this is an important activity reflecting the traditional friendship, active cooperation, and deep concern of the Chinese Embassy for the education and training cause of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.

She expressed her gratitude to Ambassador Hé Wěi and the staff of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam for consistently accompanying the Union in many people-to-people exchange programs, educational cooperation, and cultural activities.

Especially, the Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations believes that the students will effectively use this scholarship, nurture dreams, persistently learn, enhance knowledge and skills, and improve their international integration capacity; becoming exemplary citizens in the future.

The event is even more significant as 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of Vietnam-China relations, the year of Vietnam-China cultural exchanges.

The scholarships awarded not only provide material support but also serve as motivation, encouraging the students to strive further in their learning and development journey.
