The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson emphasized that this is a period when many students from around the world, including Vietnam, are preparing to apply for visas to study in the U.S., whether through self-funding or scholarships.
“We hope that the visa interview and application process for Vietnamese students will proceed smoothly, so that education continues to be one of the key pillars of cooperation in the Vietnam–U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” she said.
In response to a question about President Trump’s directive ordering all U.S. Embassies worldwide to immediately halt the issuance of new student visa interviews—and the implications for Vietnamese students planning to study in the U.S. as well as for U.S.–Vietnam educational cooperation—Spokesperson Hang reiterated:
“We hope the U.S. will continue to facilitate the participation of Vietnamese students, teachers, scholars, and professionals in U.S. educational and training programs, including at prestigious and high-quality universities, in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the U.S., for peace, cooperation, and prosperous development.”
On a separate matter, Spokesperson Hang commented on the recent armed clashes along the Thailand-Cambodia border. She said that both nations had shared details of the incident and expressed belief that disagreements would be resolved through dialogue and peaceful means, consistent with bilateral agreements, ASEAN solidarity, and international law./.
