Special Envoy of General Secretary To Lam meets with leaders of Russian parties in Moscow

WVR - On February 24, in Moscow, Special Envoy of General Secretary To Lam, Politburo Member, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung held meetings with Chairman of the United Russia Party D. Medvedev and Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation G. Zyuganov to convey the results of the 14th National Party Congress.

In the meetings, Special Envly, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung conveyed the gratitude of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and General Secretary To Lam for the congratulatory messages and letters from Russian leaders sent to the 14th National Party Congress and the re-election of To Lam as General Secretary and the election of the Party's leadership.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung briefed on the main contents of the Party Congress, stating that the 14th Party Congress was highly successful, fulfilling its significant historical mission by deeply summarizing Vietnam's revolutionary practices after 40 years of comprehensive renovation. It initially established theories on renovation to define Vietnam's development orientations in the new era; emphasized transitioning the growth model based on science, technology, and digital transformation, developing the economy in conjunction with cultural and social development and environmental protection; and for the first time, identified foreign affairs alongside national defense and security as key and regular tasks.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung affirmed Vietnam's consistent emphasis on the comprehensive strategic partnership with the Russian Federation, relations with the United Russia Party, and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation; he proposed several initiatives to enhance cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the two Parties in the coming period.

Chairmen D. Medvedev and G. Zyuganov expressed gratitude to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam for sending a Special Envoy to report the results and once again congratulated the success of the 14th Party Congress and the re-election of To Lam as General Secretary and the election of the new Party leadership.

Both leaders highly valued the achievements Vietnam has made during the renovation process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. D. Medvedev emphasized that Vietnam could not have overcome its challenges without the wise leadership and direction of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

G. Zyuganov affirmed that Vietnam serves as a model for developing countries in the current context, and the theory of renovation will significantly contribute to the international communist and workers' movement.

Both Chairmen are confident that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the country will continue to achieve its development goals in the new era.

D. Medvedev affirmed that Vietnam is an important and reliable partner for Russia in the Asia-Pacific region; he proposed major cooperation directions to be promoted, expressing readiness to collaborate with Vietnam in various fields, including nuclear energy, defense – security, science – technology, culture, and education. He emphasized the importance of inter-party cooperation, implementing signed agreements between the two Parties, and moving towards signing a Cooperation Plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the United Russia Party for 2026 – 2028, including cadre training, promoting cooperation between the two Parties' political academies; holding a cooperation mechanism meeting between the two Parties at the end of 2026-2027, enhancing cooperation between the youth movements of the two Parties, and effectively organizing the Cross Year of scientific and educational cooperation in 2026...

Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation G. Zyuganov agreed to jointly promote relations through the Party channel, especially in theoretical exchanges, supporting cooperation through parliamentary channels, between localities where the Communist Party of the Russian Federation has representatives in government, and in the social organizations of the two Parties.

During the meetings, both sides also shared information and exchanged views on several international and regional issues of mutual interest.

On this occasion, Special Envoy Le Hoai Trung conveyed an invitation from General Secretary To Lam and the Central Committee to D. Medvedev and G. Zyuganov to visit Vietnam at a suitable time. The leaders expressed their gratitude and gladly accepted the invitation.
