Quang Ninh helps promote local cooperation between Vietnam and Laos
WVR - On December 19, Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council, welcomed Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane during his visit to Vietnam and co-chaired the 12th annual ministerial-level political consultation.

During the meeting, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council welcomed Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane and his delegation to Quang Ninh. She emphasized the significant importance of the visit, which actively contributes to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos in general, as well as the cooperative relationship between Quang Ninh and Lao localities in particular.
Providing information about the province's potential, strengths, and socio-economic development achievements in recent years, the Permanent Deputy Secretary shared that Quang Ninh has consistently fostered relations between the two countries, especially in economic and cultural development cooperation, infrastructure support, education, training, human resources, and pandemic prevention.
The Permanent Deputy Secretary stated that Quang Ninh is currently focusing on implementing the cooperation content for the 2022-2026 period with the provinces of Houaphan, Luang Prabang, and Xayabury in Laos. She also mentioned that a delegation from Quang Ninh will soon visit Lao localities.

To further enhance Vietnam-Laos cooperation, Permanent Deputy Secretary Trinh Thi Minh Thanh stated that Quang Ninh will continue to strengthen cooperation and investment with Lao localities to promote the development of both countries' regions. She expressed hope that Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane will continue to support and serve as an important bridge in enhancing understanding, trust, and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries. This will contribute to elevating the cooperative, friendly, specially united, comprehensive, and strategically connected relationship between Vietnam and Laos to new heights.
Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane expressed his pleasure at returning to Quang Ninh and praised the province's strong and comprehensive development, which significantly contributes to Vietnam's overall progress.
Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane affirmed that Quang Ninh is one of the localities effectively implementing the cooperation content between Vietnam and Laos, thereby fostering and enhancing the traditional friendship and special solidarity between the two countries.
Notably, the province has actively supported Lao localities in various fields, especially in education. This is a vivid testament to the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. The Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make every effort to promote the cooperative and friendly relationship between the two nations, ensuring it develops more deeply and effectively in the future.
