Briefing the Chinese side on the local socio-economic situation, representatives of Quang Ngai said that the south-central coastal locality has a significant strategic location in Vietnam’s central key economic region and the East-West corridor, serving as a gateway to the sea with the international maritime routes through the East Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

Last year, Quang Ngai’s GRDP scale reached 121.66 trillion VND (5.17 billion USD), ranking 18th out of the 63 cities and provinces nationwide and second among the localities in the central key economic region. Its transport infrastructure has continued to be completed with a system of roads, waterways, railways and airports.

At the event, Quang Ngai's representatives proposed that the two sides cooperate in developing high-tech industries and spearhead industries such as steel, pottery, electricity, garment and textile, oil and gas, port, automobile and pharmaceuticals, as well as logistics and supporting industries.

They also expressed interest to collaborate with the Chinese locality in culture and tourism, including the organisation of joint tourism promotion activities, festivals, cultural and art troupe exchanges, while opening tours between the two sides.

Meanwhile, Hebei representatives said the locality is ready to strengthen the relationship between the two administrations, promoting practical partnership in economy, trade, culture, education, and friendship exchanges.

Hebei is also willing to strengthen bilateral ties in trade, culture, said the representatives, expressing their hope that travel firms of the two sides will foster their collaboration to encourage their people to tour each other’s locality.
