Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urges Jordan to strengthen support for the development of Vietnam's Halal industry

WVR/VNA - On the afternoon of November 12, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan, who is on an official visit to Vietnam from November 12-13, 2025.

Expressing his pleasure at meeting King Abdullah II again after their encounter at the Ocean Conference (6/2025), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh warmly welcomed the official visit of King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein to Vietnam, coinciding with the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1980-2025).

The Prime Minister emphasized that the visit holds historical significance in establishing a solid foundation for a new, more substantive, and effective phase of multifaceted cooperation between the two nations, benefiting the development and prosperity of both peoples.

Amidst rapid global and Middle Eastern changes, the Prime Minister highly appreciated Jordan's role in fostering peace in the region and its valuable support for the just struggle of the Palestinian people.

Congratulating the successful talks between the King and President Luong Cuong, the Prime Minister expressed hope that bilateral cooperation would enter a new phase of development, with higher political trust, deeper cultural exchanges, and more substantive and effective economic cooperation.

King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein expressed his delight at meeting Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, a close friend of the King, and thanked the Vietnamese leaders and people for their warm and respectful reception of the Jordanian delegation.

The King emphasized Jordan's desire to strengthen its partnership with Vietnam across various fields, affirming that Vietnam is a key partner for Jordan in Southeast Asia and that Jordan is ready to serve as a gateway for Vietnamese goods to access the Middle Eastern market.

Praising the similarities between Vietnam and Jordan, the King affirmed that both countries have significant potential to learn from and share experiences with each other, especially in crucial areas to tackle global challenges, notably agriculture, technology, and the development of the Halal industry.

The King also suggested enhancing student exchanges between the two countries to effectively bridge the two nations and peoples.

To effectively implement the substantive outcomes of the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein agreed that the two countries should continue to strengthen political trust through increased exchanges and delegation visits at all levels, especially high-level, and enhance cooperation in defense and security, improving the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

In the fields of economy, trade, and investment, both sides agreed to boost cooperation based on leveraging each country's potential, strengths, and development needs, including facilitating each other's goods.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam is ready to facilitate major Jordanian corporations in Vietnam and suggested that businesses from both countries explore joint cooperation and investment opportunities, especially in infrastructure development, green economy, digital economy, telecommunications, production, and agricultural processing, promoting the connection of startup and innovation ecosystems between the two countries.

Regarding agricultural cooperation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the need to seek new cooperation models to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs, such as implementing on-site export projects, noting that Vietnam has successfully implemented this model in several countries.

The Prime Minister suggested that relevant ministries, sectors, and businesses from both sides should soon discuss this cooperation direction. Additionally, the Prime Minister urged Jordan to enhance support for Vietnam in developing the Halal industry.

King Abdullah II noted that the two countries could implement joint and trilateral cooperation projects to enhance project efficiency.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein also discussed measures to promote cooperation in education and training, people-to-people exchanges, tourism, healthcare, and completing the legal framework.

King Abdullah II stated that he would instruct relevant agencies to research and soon grant scholarships for Vietnamese students to study Arabic, as proposed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

The two leaders agreed to continue promoting coordination and mutual support at important multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations. On this occasion, they exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern, including the East Sea issue.
