Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets with voters in Can Tho

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a delegation of National Assembly deputies of Can Tho city met with voters in Thot Not district on July 14 to inform the outcomes of the 15th National Assembly’s 7th session and gather their suggestions for the legislature.

Prime Minister Chinh said the session had adopted 21 resolutions, questioned three ministers and the State Auditor General, provided initial opinions on 11 draft laws, reviewed a supplementary evaluation report on the socio-economic performance for 2023 and early months of 2024, and approved the 2022 state budget settlement.

He expressed the Government’s commitment to continue with synchronous and drastic tasks in various fields in accordance with conclusions of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, key leaders, and the resolutions of the NA and Government. These include ensuring the progress and quality of documents submitted to the Politburo, the 10th plenum of the Party Central Committee, and the 15th NA’s 8th session.

The Government will continue giving priority to promoting growth while maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, and ensuring the major balances of the economy, he said, adding that traditional growth drivers will be renewed and policies will be introduced to foster new ones.

As Can Tho city is poised to become a new economic growth driver of the country, he urged local authorities to perform tasks and solutions outlined in the annual and tenure-based resolutions of the Party, NA, Government, and the municipal Party Organisation. He also called for concerted efforts from departments, agencies and local authorities to achieve all set goals.

Addressing local concerns, the leader also answered questions about several transport projects in the city.

In the lead up to the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), PM Chinh visited families of a martyr and a war invalid in Thot Not district, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to supporting those who have sacrificed for the nation.
