During the call, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed greetings from General Secretary To Lam and other Vietnamese leaders to the Emir and senior leaders of Kuwait.
Recalling the warm sentiments from the Emir, Prime Minister, senior leaders, and the people of Kuwait during the high-level Vietnamese delegation's visit in November 2025, the Prime Minister proposed that both sides continue to focus on implementing the agreements reached, advancing the Vietnam-Kuwait Strategic Partnership in a more substantive and effective manner.
The Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the current conflict developments in the Middle East and empathized with the difficulties faced by the people in the region. He appreciated and hoped that Kuwait and related countries would continue to exercise restraint, promote efforts to de-escalate tensions, and seek peaceful solutions based on respect for international law, the United Nations Charter, and ensuring the legitimate rights of all parties. Vietnam is ready to contribute positively to this process.
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah expressed thanks to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and senior Vietnamese leaders for sharing the difficulties faced by the Kuwaiti people in the current context. He appreciated Vietnam's role, goodwill, and responsibility in contributing to finding peaceful solutions in the Middle East.
Amidst the complex conflict developments, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked and requested the Kuwaiti Government to continue supporting the security and safety of Vietnamese citizens in Kuwait, facilitating the evacuation of Vietnamese citizens. The Kuwaiti Prime Minister committed to coordinating to ensure the safety of Vietnamese citizens in Kuwait and facilitating their evacuation if necessary. In response to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's proposal, the Kuwaiti Prime Minister agreed to collaborate with relevant partners to consider continuing crude oil supply to Vietnam and agreed to enhance energy cooperation between the two countries in the near future.
The two Prime Ministers agreed to continue directing ministries and sectors to implement the outcomes achieved during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Kuwait in November 2025, determined to transform the commitments and agreements made during the visit into specific, substantive cooperation, especially in areas of mutual interest and strength such as energy, food security, Halal, tourism, and more.
