At approximately 2:10 a.m. on July 25, a sleeper bus en route from Hanoi to Da Nang lost control and overturned, resulting in 10 fatalities and 15 injuries.
In response, the Government leader instructed the Chairperson of the Ha Tinh People’s Committee, who also heads the provincial traffic safety committee, to mobilise all necessary medical resources to treat the injured and minimise loss of life and property. Local authorities have been asked to visit and support the victims and the families of the deceased, and to convene an urgent meeting to assess the cause of the accident and take immediate corrective actions.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Da Nang People’s Committee has been directed to inspect and review compliance with road transport regulations by the transport operator involved, particularly the safety conditions of the vehicle bearing licence plate 43F-007.76. Violations, if any, must be handled strictly under the law.
The Ministry of Public Security has been tasked with leading an urgent investigation into the cause of the crash, and to strengthen oversight of road passenger transport. Particular focus is to be placed on enforcing the use and supervision of vehicle tracking systems, and penalising breaches of safety regulations.
Additional instructions have also been issued to the Ministry of Construction, other provinces and cities, and the Government Office, in line with their responsibilities.
Also on the day, Secretary of the Ha Tinh Party Committee Nguyen Duy Lam led a delegation to visit the Ky Anh general hospital, where the 15 injured passengers are being treated. Each injured person received a support grant of 5 million VND (191.3 USD), while each bereaved family was given 25 million VND.
