At the invitation of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico will pay an official visit to Vietnam from April 12-14, 2026.
Prime Minister Robert Fico is a seasoned and experienced politician in Slovakia. He is regarded as a leader with the ability to organize and maintain extensive political influence, playing a central role in the current ruling coalition.
He previously served as Prime Minister during the terms (2006-2010; 2012-2018) and was re-elected following a victory in the September 2023 elections.
Since officially returning to power in October 2023, Prime Minister Robert Fico has shown determination and played a decisive role in consolidating the state apparatus, directly overseeing the implementation of many important reform policies, particularly adjustments in the judiciary and criminal law sectors.
Prime Minister Robert Fico has always expressed goodwill and prioritized promoting relations with Vietnam. He has made practical supportive decisions, notably facilitating the official recognition of the Vietnamese community as the 14th ethnic minority in Slovakia. He has also made two official visits to Vietnam (in 2008 and 2016).
