Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expected that the Chairman of the Cuban National Assembly’s visit to Vietnam will make active contributions to tightening the relations between the two Parties, States and people.

He hailed Cuba’s huge achievements in updating the economic development model and its success in diplomatic process, helping increase the nation’s status.

Mr. Esteban Lazo Hernandez thanked Vietnam for facilitating him to make a speech at the Vietnam National Assembly on June 12, affirming that Cuba attaches importance to the strategic relationship with Vietnam.

He expressed thanks to Vietnam for providing rice for Cuba and launching programs to ensure food security as well as Vietnam’s assistance to the country's quest for the U.S. lifting of its embargo on Cuba.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc agreed that Vietnam will send a number of delegations in all fields to Cuba to exchange experience on renovation.

The Vietnamese Government encourages and facilitates the bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation, said the Prime Minister, adding that Vietnam is willing to provide long-term rice for Cuba.

The host proposed the two sides enhance delegation exchanges between ministries, localities and businesses as well as promote cooperation in advantageous areas such as agriculture, biological industry, construction, tourism, telecommunications and electronics.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese Prime Minister hoped that the two nations’ National Assemblies will negotiate, sign and launch bilateral cooperative agreements and programs to serve for each side’s national development.
