At the invitation of President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Lula da Silva, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse will lead a high-level Vietnamese delegation to attend the expanded BRICS Summit 2025 and conduct bilateral activities in Brazil from July 4- 8, 2025.

This is the first time that Vietnam is participating in the BRICS Summit as a partner country. BRICS is a multilateral cooperation mechanism among emerging economies that are increasingly influential both economically and politically.

Vietnam’s participation in the BRICS Summit and its recognition as a BRICS partner country reaffirm the country’s active and responsible role in multilateral mechanisms. It also reflects Vietnam’s commitment to contributing to global efforts, amplifying the voice and role of developing countries, promoting international solidarity, and fostering inclusive and comprehensive multilateralism based on respect for international law. At the same time, it serves to deepen cooperation between Vietnam and BRICS member countries.

Held under the theme “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance,” the BRICS Summit 2025 is one of the most important multilateral events of the year. It will bring together around 20 heads of state and government, the United Nations Secretary-General, and leaders of various international organizations.
