The program included a segment on the aftermath of Agent Orange/dioxin and an art performance. At the event, Nguyen Duc, a victim of Agent Orange/dioxin in Vietnam, shared his personal story and the long-term effects of Agent Orange on the lives of victims and their families. This sharing provided the audience with a deeper understanding of the lingering consequences of war, while also evoking empathy and a sense of responsibility towards supporting the victims.
Following this, the Bong Sen Music and Dance Troupe from Ho Chi Minh City performed a variety of artistic pieces, showcasing the rich beauty of Vietnamese music and traditional art. Ethnic instruments such as the bamboo flute, monochord, T'rung, lithophone, and drums, along with melodies and dances reflecting the cultures of the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam, created a program rich in cultural identity.
The performances not only offered a cultural experience for the audience but also contributed to enhancing understanding of Vietnam's land and people.
Beyond cultural exchange, the program also aimed at practical humanitarian goals. All proceeds from ticket sales and donations at the event will be dedicated to charitable activities in Cao Bang Province, including supporting the construction of “Houses of Compassion” and awarding scholarships to third-generation victims of Agent Orange/dioxin. This activity reflects the spirit of compassion, sharing, and community concern for those affected by the long-term impacts of war.
Previously, a program with the same theme was organized in Hiroshima. Continuing the event in Fukuoka helps expand cultural and humanitarian exchange activities, thereby promoting understanding, friendship, and connection between the people of Vietnam and Japan.
