Over 866,000 students take National High School Exam |
On the morning, they will do a test in Vietnamese literature and language during 120 minutes, followed by a 90-minute math test in the afternoon.
There will be a total of five tests, which are literature, math, foreign language, natural science subject group and social science subject group.
The examination is a major event in Vietnam, as its results will be used for both high school graduation and university entrance consideration.
This year, the exam, which is being organized at 2,144 locations nationwide, has several new features compared to 2017, including a reduction in resting time between tests from 20 minutes to 10 minutes.
Students can choose natural science subject group or social science subject group, but those who registered to take both groups must finish all tests or their results will not be recognised.
Since 2015, high school graduation and university entrance exams have been integrated into one national exam.
Provinces nationwide are offering assistance to the exam candidates, setting up volunteer teams to provide them with information related to the exams, deal with emergencies, ensure security and help regulate traffic near testing locations.
