At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia Sugiono, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung will pay an official visit to Indonesia and co-chair the 6th Meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation between Viet Nam and Indonesia (JCBC-6) in Jakarta, Indonesia on 14 July, 2026.
Vietnam and Indonesia officially established diplomatic relations on December 30, 1955. Over the past 70 years, the bilateral relationship has been built upon the solid foundation laid by President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno, and has been nurtured with great dedication by successive generations of leaders and people of both countries.
In particular, the establishment of the Strategic Partnership in 2013 and the elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025 have brought Vietnam-Indonesia relations to a new level - more comprehensive, substantive and resilient than ever before. This enhanced partnership not only serves the interests of the two countries but also contributes to peace, stability and development in the region.
