On the occasion of the 2025-2026 academic year opening, President Luong Cuong sent a letter to the Education sector. In the letter, President Luong Cuong extended warm, heartfelt sentiments and best wishes to generations of teachers, educational administrators, workers in the education sector across different periods, as well as students, learners, and parents.
The President stated that in the past academic year, the Education sector proactively and actively advised, proposed, and completed many important mechanisms, policies, and legal documents to innovate and develop education and training in the new phase. The entire sector successfully implemented the new general education program from grades 1 to 12, marking the initial success of the general education reform process.
The President also acknowledged that the quality of education at all levels has improved; Vietnamese students continue to achieve high results in international and regional Olympic competitions, contributing to enhancing our country's educational standing on the international stage. These are commendable efforts by the Education sector, teachers, and students nationwide, further spreading trust and support from society for the cause of educational innovation and development.
On behalf of the Party and State leadership, President Luong Cuong congratulated and praised the very proud achievements that the Education sector accomplished in the 2024-2025 academic year.

The President noted that the 2025-2026 academic year is the first year in a new context as the country completes the administrative unit arrangement and implements the two-tier local government model. It is also the first year of implementing Resolution 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025, by the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development.
He expressed his hope that the Education sector will focus on effectively implementing the academic year's theme: "Discipline - Innovation - Breakthrough - Development", continuing to aim for the comprehensive development of individuals in knowledge, ethics, skills, courage, and aspirations, meeting the rapid and sustainable development needs of the country in the new era of Vietnam.
"At the start of the new academic year, I trust that students and learners will continue to nurture their dreams, continuously study, and train to become patriotic, responsible, creative citizens with great aspirations to build an increasingly prosperous and happy nation. I hope teachers, educational administrators, and workers in the Education sector will always maintain their passionate spirit, love for the profession, and continuously innovate to create a happy learning environment for students. I hope parents, with love and responsibility, will continue to accompany schools and society in caring for the future generation," the President wrote.
President Luong Cuong also urged central committees, ministries, and local Party committees and governments to pay more attention to the educational cause with practical decisions so that teachers and students can teach, learn, and train in the best environment.
"I wish teachers, educational administrators, workers in the Education sector, and students and learners good health, happiness, and many achievements in the new academic year, so that Vietnam's Education sector will significantly contribute to the country's goal of 'standing shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the five continents', as beloved Uncle Ho wished," the President conveyed.
