For the first time in Khanh Hoa, a large-scale Mid-Autumn Festival, rich in experiences and ocean-themed, is specifically designed for children, the local community, and tourists. The event connects the traditional beauty of the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival with the story of Khanh Hoa, creating a unique cultural-tourism highlight along the Nha Trang coast.

Impressive gathering space: Giant mascots over 4m tall “step out” from the Four Bays Voyage

The centerpiece of the festival is a series of giant mascots over 4 meters tall, depicting marine creatures from the “Four Bays Voyage”. Each mascot carries its own significance linked to the coastal regions of Khanh Hoa. The Swiftlet plays the role of the guide.

The Dolphin and Lionfish represent the dynamism of Nha Trang. The Sea Turtle symbolizes the resilience of Cam Ranh. The Whale embodies the aspiration to reach far from Van Phong, while the Seahorse recreates the pristine beauty of Vinh Hy.

This space not only serves the needs of tourists for enjoyment and photography but also acts as a visual educational model to raise children's awareness about marine environmental protection.

“Sea of Light” from Thousands of Lanterns and a Series of Folk Experience Activities

At the festival night, children and families are encouraged to bring small lanterns containing their dreams. Additionally, the Organizing Committee has prepared lanterns to give to residents and tourists. The moment when thousands of lights illuminate the Nha Trang coast will create a shimmering “sea of light”, connecting the community under the same full moon.

Simultaneously, the festival offers many interactive cultural experience spaces with creative workshop stalls and spaces for folk games, arts, enjoying artistic performances, listening to Bai Choi, meeting traditional characters, singing and dancing with Ms. Hang and Mr. Cuoi, and welcoming the vibrant Lion-Dragon Dance troupe.

The most beautiful symbol of the festival, therefore, is not erected on stage but is created by the very children and families present at the festival night. “Moonlight Voyage” is not just the image of a radiant Mid-Autumn night, but also the image of a coastal city, under the same moon, illuminated by the wishes of children.

Expanding festival space at April 16 Square (Dong Hai Ward)

Along with the Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere at April 2 Square, the Organizing Committee will also expand the Moonlight Voyage program at April 16 Square in Dong Hai Ward.

Here, local residents and children will immerse themselves in: lantern decoration stalls and unique art performances, and lion dances.

Spreading the spirit of sharing: “Moon Sends Dreams”

Not just a fun event, “Moonlight Voyage” is also a journey of sharing and kindness. Through the “Moon Sends Dreams” activity, the Organizing Committee will donate thousands of notebooks to students in difficult circumstances, especially children in island communes in the province, helping them step into the new school year.

With the combination of traditional Mid-Autumn Festival beauty, distinctive marine spaces, and community activities, “Moonlight Voyage” is expected to become a new cultural-tourism highlight of Khanh Hoa, offering children, residents, and tourists a Mid-Autumn season rich in experiences, full of coastal city colors.

Khanh Hoa tourism faces great opportunities

Total tourism revenue is approximately 60,893.1 billion VND, an increase of nearly 19.2%. The average room occupancy rate is about 65.43%.

Not only has there been growth in visitor numbers, but the destination's appeal is also demonstrated through large-scale cultural and tourism events.

These figures show that Khanh Hoa is facing a great opportunity to continue affirming its position as one of the leading centers for beach tourism, resorts, and event organization in the country.

At the beginning of 2026, Khanh Hoa Province issued a Tourism Development Strategy for the period 2026 - 2030, with an orientation to 2045, aiming to be among the top 5 provinces and cities leading the country in tourism development, gradually consolidating its position as a prominent destination in Southeast Asia with a recognizable brand and a unified tourism ecosystem.

In this, the orientation is to make cultural tourism a main product line, enhancing the appeal of Khanh Hoa tourism alongside its strength in resort tourism.
