Meeting with Thammasak Sethaudom, Chairman and CEO of SCG Group, General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed major Thai industrial corporations to continue expanding investment, production, and business in Vietnam, especially in foundational industries, green industries, new materials, logistics, and supply chains.
Chairman and CEO of SCG Group Sethaudom stated that the group is investing in Vietnam, particularly in projects in petrochemicals, plastics, materials, and packaging; and aims to promote cooperation in petrochemicals, materials, green industries, logistics, new materials, and high value-added materials for modern industry; develop circular economy, recycled materials, and emission reduction solutions in industry.
General Secretary and President To Lam acknowledged the group's operations in Vietnam, contributing to supporting Vietnam's green transition goals; affirming that Vietnam prioritizes the development of foundational industries.
The General Secretary and President suggested that SCG Group should continue to accompany Vietnam in developing high value-added industries, enhancing connections with Vietnamese enterprises in the supply chain.
During the meeting, Sarath Ratanavadi, Director, Vice Chairman of the Board, and CEO of Gulf Group expressed gratitude to General Secretary and President To Lam for the meeting.
He stated that in the future, the group wishes to become a long-term strategic partner of Vietnam in enhancing national energy security, through long-term investments in liquefied natural gas (LNG) and renewable energy.
General Secretary and President To Lam urged the group to concretize each project towards fulfilling environmental-social responsibilities and committing to technology transfer and human resource training. Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions for investors with capability, experience, and long-term commitment like Gulf Group.
Meeting with Chadatip Chutrakul, CEO of Siam Piwat Group, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that Siam Piwat Group could explore development models for experiential destinations, combining retail, tourism, culture, creativity, and urban spaces, aligning with the need to enhance service quality and develop major urban areas in Vietnam.
The CEO of Siam Piwat Group shared that the group is currently investing effectively in Vietnam and wishes to develop in the Thu Thiem area; sharing experiences in high-end retail, destination development, tourism, and sustainable development.
General Secretary and President To Lam stated that Vietnam is promoting the development of high value-added service industries, including modern commerce, tourism, culture, creativity, and new urban economic models.
Siam Piwat Group can explore new cooperation models in suitable localities; continue to research investment and cooperation in Vietnam, especially in commerce, services, tourism, culture, creativity, and urban destination development.
Later that afternoon, General Secretary and President To Lam had a brief meeting with representatives of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association. The leadership of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association warmly welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam, his spouse, and the high-level Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to Thailand, as the two countries celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations (1976-2026), demonstrating high political trust between the two nations; affirming that the association will continue to enhance and improve the effectiveness of activities, ready to serve as a bridge for the friendship between the two countries in general, and the people of both countries in particular.
General Secretary and President To Lam highly appreciated the contributions of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association and hoped that the association would continue to focus on promoting tourism and the image of Vietnam; continue to innovate activities, contributing to comprehensive cooperation between the two countries; becoming an effective bridge for cooperation activities between businesses on both sides; thereby, promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries.
