General Secretary, President To Lam receives outgoing Mongolian Ambassador Jigjee Sereejav

During the meeting, General Secretary, President To Lam and Ambassador Sereejav expressed their delight at the substantial and effective development of bilateral relations over the past four years since Ambassador Sereejav assumed his duties in Vietnam in December 2021. High-level exchanges and contacts have been vigorously promoted, including the state visit to Vietnam by President Khurelsukh (11/2023) and the state visit to Mongolia by General Secretary, President To Lam (9/2024). The two sides officially established the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2024.

Additionally, relations in party channels, trade cooperation, investment, defense, security, justice, culture, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges have all seen positive developments, providing a solid foundation for promoting comprehensive cooperation in Vietnam-Mongolia relations in the future.

General Secretary, President To Lam congratulated Ambassador Sereejav on successfully completing his tenure in Vietnam and acknowledged and highly appreciated the Ambassador's significant contributions to bilateral relations, particularly in effectively serving as a bridge to foster the traditional friendship between the two countries in a substantive and comprehensive manner across various fields of cooperation.

Honouring the fine traditional friendship personally built by President Ho Chi Minh and generations of Mongolian leaders, General Secretary, President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always values developing relations with Mongolia. He suggested that both sides continue to enhance delegation exchanges, high-level and other level contacts, and consolidate political trust. He urged the promotion of economic, trade, and investment cooperation to match the potential of the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership. He also emphasized strengthening people-to-people exchanges and local cooperation, maximizing the advantages of the bilateral visa exemption agreement signed in 2023, and promoting the friendship between the two countries to the people, especially the younger generations, thereby laying a sustainable foundation for the future of Vietnam-Mongolia relations.

Ambassador Sereejav warmly congratulated Vietnam on its achievements in recent times, particularly the successful organization of the 14th Party Congress and the elections for the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026–2030 term.

Ambassador Sereejav expressed gratitude to the Party, State leaders, and various Vietnamese agencies and localities for their support and facilitation, enabling him to successfully complete his tenure in Vietnam. He expressed his honor in directly contributing to the development of bilateral relations during his tenure and affirmed that the State and people of Mongolia always value their relationship with Vietnam, Mongolia's first comprehensive partner in Southeast Asia. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of General Secretary, President To Lam, Vietnam will continue to develop strongly and prosper, with its international standing increasingly elevated.

Expressing agreement with the directives of General Secretary, President To Lam, Ambassador Sereejav affirmed that with the current strong foundation of relations, especially the close attention and guidance of the high-level leaders of both countries, the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership will continue to develop effectively, substantively, and comprehensively, meeting the common aspirations and interests of the peoples of both countries, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world. Ambassador Sereejav affirmed that after his tenure, in any position, he will always follow and continue to contribute positively to the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership.
