The event attracted a large number of young people from China and ASEAN countries. The program was co-organized by Southern Financial Media Corporation and Huya Live Group, with the cooperation and support of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Guangzhou.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung expressed confidence that the music exchanges, discussions, and cultural promotions within this ASEAN Youth Exchange Program will significantly contribute to enhancing people-to-people exchanges between ASEAN and Chinese youth. This is also a valuable opportunity for young people to interact and learn from leading experts, experiences that will be highly beneficial in their future artistic pursuits.

The Consul General emphasized that the RisingZ competition is being held in Vietnam at a very special time, as 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations and has been designated as the "Year of Vietnam-China People-to-People Exchange". He expressed delight that the Rising-Z competition has attracted numerous young participants and selected outstanding representatives to compete in the finals in Guangzhou.

The program provided an opportunity for musical exchange and learning for youth from both countries, particularly between Vietnamese youth and Guangdong province. The RisingZ competition conveyed the meaningful message of "Gen Z continuously rising", while highlighting the crucial role of cultural exchange, as music bridges geographical and linguistic divides to connect passionate young souls eager to rise. Thus, this is a practical activity to implement one of the "6 more" orientations to boost Vietnam-China relations, which is building a "stronger social foundation".

The Consul General affirmed continued collaboration with Chinese agencies and organizations, as well as ASEAN consulates in Guangzhou, to implement youth exchange activities in the future, contributing to fostering the traditional friendship between the people of Vietnam, China, and ASEAN countries.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Liáng Pèizhēn, Vice Principal of Guangzhou Socialist Academy, Deputy Head of Communications - Organizing Committee of the 15th National Games and the Paralympic Games of Guangzhou, assessed that this ASEAN-China Youth Exchange Program has positively contributed to enhancing consensus between China and ASEAN countries on strengthening youth cultural exchanges.
Ms. Liáng Pèizhēn noted that sports is a universal language transcending all words, and thus the Organizing Committee believes the significance of this major sports event lies not only in breakthroughs and glory on the field but also in exchanges and resonance beyond the stadium. The Exchange Program will foster friendship to continue growing and flourishing, with sports and culture becoming a strong bond between the youth of the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN. The Organizing Committee hopes the spirit of the National Games will not only spread among the youth but also infuse new vitality into mutual learning and cultural, musical, and sports exchanges between the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN countries.

Within the program, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Institute of International Studies at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Professor Han Yonghui, shared insights on the historical foundation and future cooperation prospects between the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN. Professor Huy assessed that cooperation between the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN is gradually being elevated, from pure cultural exchanges to development resonance, from traditional trade to comprehensive integration.

For his part, Professor Ye Lin, Faculty of Political and Public Administration at Sun Yat-sen University, Director of the Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Research Center, shared about the relationship between sports and youth. He encouraged a large gathering of young people in the Greater Bay Area to showcase the vitality and spirit of the younger generation, while jointly promoting the prosperity and common development of the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN.

At the event, delegates also participated in a panel discussion featuring professors from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, ASEAN student representatives in Guangzhou, representatives from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, and renowned Chinese composers and performers to share experiences and discuss ways to promote people-to-people exchanges through music and cultural activities.

On the same day, the final of the China-Vietnam Rising Z music exchange competition was held, attracting numerous young participants from Vietnam and China. The jury selected two champions from Vietnam and China, whose performances excellently conveyed the traditional culture of each nation while skillfully reflecting the cultural integration and exchange. These champions are the GenZ cultural ambassadors who will continue to inherit and foster the Vietnam-China friendship in the future.
