Co-chairing the event were Party Central Committee Member, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission Nguyen Thanh Tam; Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Pham Xuan Thuy; Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Office Vo Thanh Hung .
At the briefing, Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung expressed thanks for the participation and interest of international friends and partners in the 14th National Party Congress. He emphasized that this significant event not only evaluates the five-year term of the 13th National Party Congress (2021 - 2026) but also marks a historical milestone, opening a new development phase that reflects the strong aspirations of the Vietnamese nation.
Politburo member Le Hoai Trung stated that the Congress successfully completed its agenda, approving important documents and electing the 14th Central Committee with 200 members, including 180 official members and 20 alternate members. The Central Committee elected the Politburo consisting of 19 members.
Regarding the Congress documents, Politburo member Trung noted that they were developed in a special context, as the nation has undergone 40 years of renovation, aiming towards the significant milestones of the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding and the 100th anniversary of the nation's founding.
In a rapidly changing, complex, and unpredictable global and regional context, Vietnam has achieved comprehensive, breakthrough, and outstanding accomplishments. Its international standing and reputation continue to rise, while it candidly acknowledges internal challenges that need to be addressed. A key innovation of the 14th National Party Congress is the approach to document development, providing a comprehensive evaluation of 40 years of renovation, embodying the intelligence, will, and aspirations of the entire Party and people. It reflects Vietnam's innovative thinking and strong determination for development in the new phase.

The Congress set the overarching goal of maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; achieving rapid and sustainable development; improving people's living standards; ensuring strategic autonomy, resilience, and confidence; and advancing strongly into the new era. By 2030, with a vision towards 2045, Vietnam aims to become a developed, high-income country.
The Congress documents contain many new and breakthrough points, identifying socio-economic development and environmental protection as central; Party building as pivotal; cultural and human development as foundational; strengthening national defense, security, and promoting foreign relations and integration as essential and regular tasks; and scientific, technological, and innovative breakthroughs, along with national digital transformation, as the central driving force for development. The Congress also outlined five major guiding principles, eight major orientations, and three strategic breakthrough goals.
Regarding foreign policy, Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung stated that the Congress reaffirmed the commitment to an independent, self-reliant, multilateral, and diversified foreign policy, proactively and actively integrating into the international community comprehensively, deeply, and effectively. It emphasizes the close combination of Party diplomacy, state diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy, as well as public security and defense diplomacy. Vietnam aims to contribute positively and responsibly to peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development in the region and the world. Vietnam values the support and cooperation of international friends and reaffirms its commitment to being an active and responsible member of the international community.

At the event, many Ambassadors and Heads of diplomatic missions shared their assessments of Vietnam's development achievements and extended their congratulations and expectations for Vietnam's future development directions. Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Rajpal Singh expressed his impression with General Secretary To Lam's speeches on the development vision towards 2045. He sees this as an opportunity for Singaporean businesses to expand cooperation with Vietnam to achieve ambitious goals. Vietnam's foreign policy will continue to play a crucial role, especially in the current challenging context.
United Nations Resident Coordinator in Vietnam Pauline Tamesis mentioned that members of the diplomatic corps had the opportunity to attend the Congress's opening and closing ceremonies, considering it a great honour. She shared that the United Nations is ready to cooperate with Vietnam to shape the future and address non-traditional security challenges. She welcomed Vietnam's foreign policy and highly appreciated the strong political commitment to implementing the Congress's resolutions and documents. She affirmed that the United Nations supports Vietnam's goals in promoting innovation, scientific and technological development, accelerating digital and green transformation, while continuing to promote and ensure human rights, and is ready to work closely with Vietnam to realize these goals.

Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Gass congratulated Vietnam on the success of the Congress and expressed a desire to continue close cooperation with Vietnam in the future. He highly valued Vietnam's commitments to peace and its increasingly active role in the international community.
Belarusian Ambassador to Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou regarded the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam as a historically significant event for Vietnam, setting the direction for successfully implementing socio-economic development goals in the coming period and promoting Vietnam's international integration. He believes Vietnam will succeed with the support of its partners and long-standing friends.
Bangladeshi Ambassador to Vietnam Md Lutfor Rahman and Timor-Leste Ambassador to Vietnam João Pereira also congratulated the successful organization of the Congress, highly appreciating the achievements Vietnam has made under the leadership of the Communist Party, and expressed a desire to continue strengthening relations with Vietnam.

Vietnam hopes to continue receiving such support in the future, for the common goal of peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region and the world, for the prosperity and happiness of the people.
