The Deputy Prime Minister hailed the efforts and achievements of the external relations work in general and of the diplomatic sector in particular over the past time, in which the foreign policy of the 13th Party Congress has been actively and effectively implemented to deepen relations with partners, especially strategic and comprehensive ones, traditional friends and other important partners, and make great contribution to the country’s socio-economic development and enhancing Vietnam's position and reputation.

Based on these major orientations, the Foreign Ministry should focus on implementing the external relations programs at the high-ranking and other levels; continue promoting in-depth, comprehensive and effective international integration; firmly consolidating border peace, stability, friendship and development; optimising favorable international factors, outside resources as well as signed international agreements to serve the rapid and sustainable development of the country, the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister also lauded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' efforts to build a strategy on building and development of the diplomatic sector until 2030; asking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to pay a greater attention to the Party building and human resources development in the diplomatic sector.
