He congratulated the Chinese people on their achievements over the last 71 years, most notably during the four decades of reform and opening-up.

He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping being the core, the Chinese people will obtain greater accomplishments and build China into a modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful, contributing to regional and global development and prosperity.

2020 is a significant year for both countries, he went on, as they are celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Though bilateral ties have experienced ups and downs over the past 70 years, cooperation and friendship have remained. Both sides have recognized the importance of maintaining a good friendship between their peoples, Parties, and States, he noted.

The Party, State, and people of Vietnam always attach great importance to growing ties with China, Trung said. He expects the two will continue to implement high-level common perceptions; consolidate political trust; expand cooperation in all areas; and control disagreements based on respecting each other’s legitimate interests in line with international law, to further sustainably develop bilateral relations.
