DAV participated in academic exchanges with China’s research agencies

On the foundation of the on-going, positive development of the bilateral relations, Vietnamese and Chinese scholars agreed to seek opportunities to promote cooperation in areas of mutual interests.

On the invitation of the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), from October 16-21, Dr. Pham Lan Dung, Acting President of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) led a delegation, with representatives from different sectors, to attend academic exchange activities with CIIS and China’s top research agencies.

The delegation met and thoroughly exchanged with CIIS, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), Institute of International Relations of Tsinghua University, China Diplomatic Academy, Shanghai Institute for International Studies (SIIS)… on areas of mutual interests such as security, global development issues, China’s major global initiatives, Vietnam-China bilateral cooperation and bilateral education, academic exchanges…

Open, candid exchanges had helped researchers to further understand more about the opinion, approaches of each country in regional, international issues. They also facilitated the engagement in seeking further opportunities for effective cooperation between the two countries, bilaterally and multilaterally, therefore contributing to policy research and suggestions for each sides.

Both sides also recognized the importance of holding dialogues and exchanges to further build mutual trust and understanding between countries, in the context of on-going, complex regional and international landscape. As a result, both sides will continue to cooperate to address effectively emerging issues, toward the common goal of maintaining peace, stability, prosperity in the region and the world.

On the foundation of the on-going, positive development of the bilateral relations, upholding the “16 Words” Guideline and “Four Good” spirit, both sides’ scholars agreed to look for opportunities for further cooperation in potential areas and those of mutual interests such as new technology, digital economy, green transition, infrastructures, youth exchanges… aside from current, positive development in tradition areas of cooperation.

DAV and China’s research agencies agreed to further maintain academic exchanges, frequent engagement of experts, researchers through bilateral channels and regional, global research forums in the coming time.
