WVR - On November 27, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025) and the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phomvihane (December 13, 1920 - December 13, 2025), a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria, led by Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang, visited and congratulated the Lao Embassy in Austria.

At the Lao Embassy headquarters in Vienna, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang presented a bouquet of fresh flowers to Lao Ambassador Khampheng Douangthongla, his spouse, and the entire staff of the Lao Embassy, extending warm congratulations to the Party, State, and people of Laos.

The Ambassador emphasized the significant meaning of Laos' National Day and the profound gratitude towards President Kaysone Phomvihane, an outstanding leader who laid the foundation for the special solidarity between the two countries.

Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang highlighted that the activities commemorating the 50th National Day of Laos and the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phomvihane coincide with Vietnam's series of special activities this year, celebrating the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding, the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the 80th National Day, and the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South.

The Ambassador affirmed that the Vietnamese people always follow, share, and rejoice in Laos' developmental achievements in recent times, confident that Laos will continue to achieve even greater milestones on its path to development and integration.

The special Laos-Vietnam relationship is a priceless asset that must be preserved, nurtured, and developed.

For his part, Lao Ambassador to Austria Khampheng Douangthongla expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Vietnamese Embassy delegation and extended deep gratitude to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam for their wholehearted support of Laos in its past struggle for national liberation as well as in the current efforts to protect and build the country.

The Ambassador emphasized that the special Laos-Vietnam relationship is a priceless asset of the two nations, which must be preserved, nurtured, and developed through generations.

Both Ambassadors affirmed that the regular exchanges and close cooperation between the Lao and Vietnamese representative offices in Austria have contributed to enhancing mutual understanding, strengthening solidarity, and bonding between the staff of both sides. They also agreed to continue promoting effective and substantive coordination at international forums and the United Nations in Vienna, for the benefit of both countries, and for global peace, stability, and development.
