“I drew inspiration from the famous and cultural heritages of both countries, with the hope of conveying a message of cultural exchange and friendship. When I think about Vietnam, I instantly think of Khue Van Cac, a traditional symbol strongly imprinted in the Vietnamese people’s awareness. The Atomium building, which is regarded a notable landmark in Belgium, also catched my eye.

In the design process, I used the number 50 as the main feature and combined it with a special architectural image thay symbolizes the 50 years of strengthened, consolidated, and diversified relationship between Vietnam and Belgium”, Ly Khanh Linh said.

In terms of colors, she shared that she used the Belgian flag colors, with black representing those who fought for the country’s independence, yellow representing wealth, and red representing the sacrifice by heroes during the liberation of the Kingdom of Belgium. Red also represents the color of Vietnamese who fought for our country’s life today.

On this occasion, Ambassador Karl Van den Bossche also noted many several events and official visits in the coming time. In May, Majesty the Queen of Belgium will visit Vietnam in her capacity as Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. In September 2023, the Minister-President of Flanders, Belgium, will lead a big business delegation to Vietnam. In the 3rd quarter of 2024, the Embassy is extremely pleased to announce that a State Visit by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen of Belgium will take place to Vietnam.
