Brazilian film week kicked off in Viet Nam, Highling TRINTA

On May 9, at the National Cinema Center, the Brazilian Embassy coordinated with relevant agencies to organize the opening ceremony of Brazilian Film Week in Viet Nam.

The event was attended by Brazilian Ambassador to Viet Nam Fernando Apparicio da Silva, representatives of foreign Embassies in Ha Noi, friendship associations, students of Ha Noi University and fans of Brazilian movies.

Taking place from May 9-13th in Ha Noi, the Brazilian Film Week in Viet Nam in 2022 has been jointly organized by Viet Nam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Brazilian Embassy, ​​the Cinema Department and the National Cinema Center.

This is a cultural exchange activity aiming to introduce the Vietnamese public to the country and people of Brazil through films with artistic quality, diverse content, and high aesthetic and entertainment values. Brazilian Film Week is a meaningful event to help strengthen the Vietnam-Brazil friendship.

Upon addressing the opening ceremony, Ambassador Fernando Apparicio da Silva said: “Through the Brazilian Film Week, I hope that the Vietnamese audience and public will gain greater insights into Brazilian culture.

I am really touched, especially when seeing that the hall is almost full of the audience and there are many Vietnamese people. It confirms the fact that Brazilian culture has reached the Vietnamese public.”

The Ambassador added: “I am deeply moved by the content of the movie Trinta, which is about the Carnaval festival, a typical cultural event of Brazil.”

Expressing her feelings after watching the movie Trinta, Ms. Hong Hanh, a spectator, said: “I have heard about Brazil’s Carnaval many times and I’m really into it. Today, I understand better about this traditional cultural event.”

In addition to the movie Trinta shown at the opening ceremony, the Brazilian Film Week in Viet Nam will introduce to the audience 4 renowned films including: Rio 2096: A Story of Love and Fury, Jules and Dolores, Buddies, and Nise: The Heart of Madness.

Tickets to the event are free of charge and can be obtained from the National Cinema Centre and Brazilian Embassy in Hanoi.
