Border guards showcase service dogs to Vietnamese and Chinese Defense Ministers

The Tra Co Border Post is responsible for managing and protecting the border from marker 1378 to the Bac Luan River estuary, directly adjacent to Van Vi village, Jiangping town, Dongxing city, Fangchenggang city, Guangxi province, China.
Reporting to the two Ministers and their delegations on the results of border management and protection cooperation between Tra Co Border Post and the Fangcheng Border Guards of China in 2025, Lieutenant Colonel Luc Chinh Duc, Head of Tra Co Border Post, emphasized that over the years, Tra Co Border Post and the Fangcheng Border Guards (People's Liberation Army of China) have consistently maintained regular meetings, exchanges of information, and discussions related to border management and protection, national boundary markers, and maintaining security and order on both sides of the border.

The Tra Co Border Post has closely cooperated and effectively implemented three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border; the Border Cooperation Agreement between the two Ministries of Defense, and the minutes of meetings between the Quang Ninh Border Guards (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Border Guards (China).
Additionally, both sides regularly meet, visit, and congratulate each other on holidays, New Year, and traditional days of the two countries' armies, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the border guard forces of the two nations.

The two sides have conducted 396 joint border patrols with 1,996 officers and soldiers participating. This regular activity between the border protection forces aims to directly manage and protect the border, inspect the boundary lines and markers between the two countries, and promptly detect, prevent, and coordinate in handling violations of the Vietnam-China land border agreement.

Moreover, the two sides have maintained regular quarterly meetings and established a hotline to exchange information on border management and protection cooperation 14 times, sending each other 14 letters. This has enabled timely detection, prevention, and effective resolution of incidents on the border, preventing complex situations from arising.

In addition, both sides actively and effectively collaborate in combating crime and legal violations in the border area, such as smuggling, illegal transportation of goods across the border, and illegal immigration. They also excel in public education and mobilizing the local population on both sides of the border to comply with the law and actively participate in crime prevention and reporting.

On behalf of the officers and soldiers of Tra Co Border Post, Lieutenant Colonel Luc Chinh Duc affirmed that in the future, they will continue to closely cooperate with the Fangcheng Border Guards (China) in border management and protection, further strengthening the friendship, solidarity, and increasingly substantive and effective cooperation between the two units. This will contribute to promoting economic, cultural, and social development in the border area, building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developing border between the two countries.
